Aeronautical Engineer

About the Company

Odyssian Technology is a high technology company focused on technology innovation and creative product development related to advanced lightweight composites, multifunctional structure, smart structure, and integrated systems. Exciting work is underway in the development of small unmanned aerial vehicles with structurally integrated systems, chemical containment systems with integrated leak detection sensors, and various products involving the integration of electronic/electrical systems into structure, housing, and devices.   Odyssian is involved in developing technology and products for both the military and commercial market place. 

About the Opportunity

The selected candidate will be a key contributor to the development of technology and products related to polymer composites, smart structure, and multifunctional structure for use in the aerospace and defense, industrial, and construction markets. 

Highly competent and ambitious individuals are sought who are interested in the challenge and career potential of joining a young high technology business. Applicants should have interest in the development of innovative technology and products related to small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV).

Qualifications

  • Must have B.S. in Aeronautical Engr. (AE) or Mechanical Engr. with AE emphasis.
  • Must be proficient in CAD or 3D solid modeling, preferably using SolidWorks.
  • Must have experience in classical analysis and finite element analysis, preferably using NE/NASTRAN and COSMOS.
  • Must have skills in classical aerodynamic analysis and air vehicle design preferably with experience using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools and methodology.
  • Preference given to candidates with experience in structural analysis of laminate structure.
  • Prefer experience or strong interest in advanced composites, smart structure, and multifunctional structures. 
  • Must be highly creative with strong problem solving skills and have inherent ability to conceptualize innovative and practical solutions.
  • Must have solid skills, practical sense, and interest needed for assisting technicians with hands-on fabrication of high quality prototype systems.
  • Must have strong writing and oral presentation skills.
  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, or hold adequate export control license/certification through the U.S. Department of State.
